An old church hall in Essex has been refurbished and extended to provide new community facilities, a crèche and an IT training facility. Developed in close consultation with the local community, English Heritage and Havering Conservation, the National Lottery supported development included connecting the Edwardian hall with Church House – Romford’s oldest building. Considering the sensitive context, the extension was clad in stained European redwood and cedar shingles.
