Gothic Nightmares explores the taste for weird, supernatural and fantastic themes in British art between 1770 and 1830. Working closely with curator Martin Myrone and graphic designers BCMH, we were able to create an appropriate backdrop for the exhibition. The film ‘Susperia’ by Dario Argento was used as an inspiration for creating the modern Gothic environment, where features such as deep doorway transition depths between each room work to create a contemporary Gothic experience of transition into another world.
