Churchill College provides 30 new postgraduate rooms for the University of Cambridge. Situated in a sensitive location on the edge of the campus landscape and close to a suburban street, the project responds to the contrasting contexts by subdividing the development within a heavily designed landscape to create buildings of a more appropriate scale. The form and materiality of these ‘houses’ respond to the context of the landscape and the arts and crafts tradition of the nearby residential area.
